Description

Our Alzheimer’s Disease lesson plan helps students learn about the disease, as well as gives strategies to use when interacting with people who have Alzheimer’s. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively to create two informational posters – one which shows the importance of compassion when working with someone with Alzheimer’s and one which lists strategies for preventing the disease. Students are also asked to tell if each thing in a provided list may help prevent, is a symptom of, or an activity for Alzheimer’s.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define and list characteristics of Alzheimer’s Disease and identify strategies to use when interacting with those who have the disease.
