Our Atoms lesson plan introduces students to the basics of atoms. This engaging lesson defines an atom and prepares students to identify its main parts and characteristics. During this lesson, students are asked to create a model of a simple atom, which engages the sensory system to support the development of concept imagery for the atomic world. Students are also asked to label the parts of an atom on a diagram and answer questions about atoms, testing their understanding of the lesson material.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define an atom, identify its main parts and characteristics, and create a model of a simple atom.
