Our Benefits of Animal Group Behavior lesson plan teaches students about how various animals behave in groups. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to use the Internet or another resource provided by the teacher and research a species of animal that typically lives in a group, discover how the animals interact in their group, identify the advantages and disadvantages, and complete a chart related to the animals’ group behavior and interaction; they then present their animal to the class, honing their presentation and public speaking skills. Students are also asked to answer a series of true/false questions about animals and their behavior.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and list the benefits of animal group behavior as well as list some disadvantages.
