Our Introduction to Birds lesson plan teaches students about the basics of birds, including their calls, the different types, and their characteristics. During this lesson, students are asked to answer questions about and learn the call that a specific bird, assigned by the teacher, makes, and then present their bird to the class, giving their classmates information about the bird and imitating its call. Students are also asked to use their creativity to color in pictures of birds and read facts about them.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify characteristics of birds, compare and contrast different types of birds, and mimic a bird assigned to them by the instructor.
