Our Metamorphosis lesson plan teaches students about what metamorphosis is and how it works in both insects and amphibians. Students learn the steps involved in metamorphosis and related vocabulary.

Our Metamorphosis lesson plan is an in-depth study of metamorphosis, both complete and incomplete, with the focus on insects and amphibians. During this lesson, students are asked to use their creativity to write a story from the perspective of an insect or amphibian developing through the 3 or 4 stages of metamorphosis and attach it to a poster along with pictures or illustrations. Students are also asked to match terms to their definitions, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson vocabulary.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define metamorphosis, identify its stages, compare two types, and explain the process as used by amphibians and insects.
