Regular Vowel Teams

Our Regular Vowel Teams lesson teaches students about the regular vowel teams, which include oa, ee, ai, ay, oi, and oy. Students learn spelling-sound correspondences for these vowel teams, which helps with their pronunciation.

Our Regular Vowel Teams lesson introduces students to the regular vowel teams: oa, ee, ai, ay, oi, and oy. It also refers to some of the vowel teams that do not follow the rule. During this lesson, students are asked to create as many words as they can using given vowel teams and list them in the space provided in order to practice using words with these sounds. Students are also asked to write in the correct vowel team for given words with missing letters.

At the end of the lesson, students will know final -e and common vowel team conventions for representing long vowel sounds and know spelling-sound correspondences for additional common vowel teams.
